This may look like a modern farmhouse at first glance — but step inside, and you’ll quickly see that it’s anything but expected. Nestled in the heart of Lafayette, this 7,000-square-foot custom home blends crisp architecture with warm, layered interiors designed for a modern family lifestyle.

We recently wrapped this project and couldn’t be more excited to share it. From the street, it has that timeless black-and-white silhouette and gabled charm you might associate with a classic farmhouse. But inside, the design tells a much bolder, more personal story — one of thoughtful details, curated materials, and rooms that feel both expansive and intimate.

This home was designed from the ground up with our clients, who wanted something fresh, functional, and rooted in comfort. Every element — from the wide-plank oak flooring to the custom lighting and hand-finished cabinetry — was carefully selected to elevate the experience of everyday living. The open-concept kitchen and great room are designed for gathering, while tucked-away moments like the library nook and private office create space to breathe.

The exterior spaces are just as considered, with outdoor entertaining areas, a pool, and a seamless indoor-outdoor flow that makes the most of Lafayette’s mild climate. It’s the kind of home that’s built for both connection and calm — and it reflects the best of what we love to design.
